XX is a distinct design from Louis Poulsen, created in 1926 by Poul Henningsen, who designed hundreds of lamps using the iconic three-shade system that ensures impeccable quality of light no matter your needs. Henningsen often used numbers referring to the size of the lampshade on the individual fixtures. PH 5/5 is known as a ‘full-size’ pendant and characterised by its compact look. The ‘full-size’ pendants are glare-free and great for rooms with high ceilings, where they complement modern and traditional décor beautifully while contributing to the atmospheric light experience in shops, conference rooms, and restaurants. The more common ‘hybrid models’ like PH 3/3 are made to hang a little lower, such as above a dining or coffee table, where they create an ideal light and a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
